Best YA Books of 2011

I always enjoy reading the best-of lists that come out at the end of the year. Here's one from NPR, the best YA books of the year. I haven't read any of them, and only one has shown up in my classroom during self-selected reading time. I'll have to look into these...

I saw that article and wanted to read it but was afraid I'd end up adding a dozen books to my Amazon wish list, and the last thing I need right now is more stuff, even such wonderful stuff as books. So I will have to wait - but I am glad you posted the link so I can find it easily later. (-:

I don't know if you have any of Stephen Davies books in your classroom (he of the "Voice in the Desert" blog from Burkina Faso), but they are fabulous! My middle son (11) and I both really enjoyed Hacking Timbuktu and Outlaw.
