Spiritual Journey Thursday: Summer Nurtures our Souls

Carol Varsalona is our host today and has asked us to reflect on the way summer nurtures our souls. I decided to go (mostly) wordless and show you some photos I've taken during cycling and birding expeditions in Kentucky and Tennessee this summer.

In that last one, you can see a foreshadowing of the next season!

Ruth, your almost wordless post shares the abundance of nature and how it nurtured your summer soul. Thank you for sharing what nature offered you in the states. I especially like the tree bending over the water photo and the puddle on the trail because they remind me of the trail I used to walk on Long Island. There are good memories locked in those photos for both you and me. I would like to add those to my Poetryliscious padlet with credit to you. I am surprised by the beautiful leaf that fell down. It is a lone harbinger of fall. May you continue to be nurtured by the earth, your bicycling trips, and birding. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

So beautiful! Are you near the flooding? Are you and your loved ones OK?

Ruth, looking at these photos how can one not feel a sense of peace and a spiritual recharging. Words are not always necessary.

What my attention was drawn to was the water that was present in almost all of your pictures! That is the one thing we are desperately needing here in central Texas, as fires blaze all around us in this dry heat. Nature feeds the soul, but can be frightening right now in our state.

Ruth, these are so beautiful. I've not been to Tennessee or Kentucky, so I enjoyed seeing through your eyes a bit. Will you be heading back to Paraguay soon?

Love all your pics, especially the ones with trees. So glad you got to spend time in TN and KY. We have family in TN & I always feel a slowing of life's pace when we visit. Might be the humidity, but I like to think it's the preponderance of rocking chairs on porches!
